Rick Harrell, Principal

 
Prior to joining SBCC Group, Rick Harrell served two years as Chief Technology Officer at Tribeca Global Management LLC.

His career spans more than 18 years with his primary expertise being in the design, development and implementation of large-scale technology systems. Mr. Harrell has a long history of successful project implementations which enable diverse systems to communicate, facilitate improved information flow, with designs that enable code reuse and reduced implementation timeframes.

At Tribeca Global Management LLC, Mr. Harrell served as Chief Technology Officer, where he built a global technology that supported trading in the US, UK and Singapore. The technology group was responsible for large and small scale projects with a focus on Project Management, Development, Infrastructure, Global Support and Information Security.

At Caxton, Mr. Harrell managed the technology team that designed and built trading support systems with a focus on a quantitative trading. The infrastructure supported multiple strategies on Windows, Unix and Linux platforms with an emphasis on high frequency systematic trading. Systems were fully integrated which enabled proprietary and non-proprietary systems to interface without compromising the security of intellectual property and enabling centralized management reporting across all systems.

While at FT-Interactive Data, Mr. Harrell was part of a development team that designed, developed and supported systems for Corporate and Municipal Bond Pricing and was involved in the re-engineering of the Corporate Pricing system from Mainframe to the Windows and Unix platforms.

At Lehman Brothers, Mr. Harrell’s major development and support project involved integrating multiple vendor pricing and historical data systems into a seamless and robust research system, which supported Lehman’s Equity Research analysts.

At Drexel Burnham Lambert, Mr. Harrell served as a Senior Programmer Manager, with a technology team that developed and supported financial systems for Equity and Fixed Income systems.

Mr. Harrell began his career in financial services as a Senior Programmer developing Fed Reporting systems for the Controller’s department at Manufacturers Hanover Trust.

Mr. Harrell holds a B.S. in Business Administration from Barton College.
